ReplyDeleteSometimes we are quick to judge the pharmaceutical companies without really educating ourselves. Many of them are about educating the public and the physicians about proper nutrition and what "not to do" to stay healthy. Unfortunately, WE DO have people with cauliflowers as brains and decide to smoke and eat like crap and drink things that are bad for them and well, you get point. Those people are our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands...you get the point again. We want them around so drugs are made for those types of people. So yes, sometimes are loved ones have cauliflowers as brains, but we do want them around. Without some of these drugs, they may not be.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, my battle is not with pharm companies. My battle is educating our clients and hopefully it will trickle to their families and friends. If you can provide educational information from pharm companies such as; lectures, articles, pamphlets, what ever it may be, I'd would love to post it to this site. This site was created to do excatly that...Educate those that didnt have a chance to make the change. A wise man once told me "You don't know, what you don't know". So I very much agree with you about education. Medication is keeping my mother alive today so I am very grateful to the pharm companies for their efforts. Are they educating the public... I'll put it this way. I worked at a hospital and I don't recall the Pharm Reps bringing us lunch to discuss prevention of diseases, I must have been sick that day, oh the irony. Also, the commercials I see them spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on are how to treat the condition not to prevent it. I've also worked at several health seminars and only saw the pharm booths promoting meds, not how to avoid getting the disease that will make you take the meds. I search constantly thru the internet for articles both simple and complex to read and post here. I have yet to come across one writen by Pfizer, Merck or any other. Mabye I'm not looking hard enough. So if i'm involved in this health industry and I barely hear about PREVENTION, then how can I expect my mom, dad, sis, bro to hear about it.
